Children from Moorings Way Infant School welcomed their families to a Christmas light show and fayre which was a huge success.

The event, focused on spreading joy during the festive break, raised money to support the delivery of memorable events for children to enjoy, including a Father Christmas visit, the school pantomime and Elfridges where children purchase gifts for their families.

Mrs. J. Loader, who led the delivery of the event, said it was a pleasure to see everyone enjoying themselves.

She said: “There’s always a lot of time, effort and energy that goes into these events, but it’s always worthwhile when you see the smiles on the faces of our lovely Meon Way community.

“We welcomed children from Meon Infant School too, so I’m delighted at the popularity of this event.”

On the evening, there were refreshments, a tombola, community stalls and more for everyone to explore.

Around £1,200 was raised, which will be given back to the school to positively benefit the children and secure more activities for them and the wider community to enjoy.

Mrs. Loader continued: “At Meon Way, we believe it’s very important to communicate and engage with the community in the participation and celebration of events taking place across our sites.

“The children love sharing their excitement with all, and the lights and festive activities like this support the buildup and excitement for Christmas.”
